On 5 November 2024 the Grassland Stewardship Alliance (GSA) submitted an objection to the application for prospecting rights. The Public Participation meeting held on 26 November 2025 was attended by the GSA and two landowners resident in Vlakplaats/Schurveberg.
As per a notification received on 19 February 2025 from the Environmental Practitioner, the application has been submitted to DMRE for review. The GSA awaits the outcome of the DMRE review.

The Draft BAR and EIA Reports were received on 20 February 2025. The review period for Interested and Affected Parties is from 22 February 2025 to 22 March. A date for the Public Participation Meeting has not yet been published. The GSA will respond to the reports accordingly and attend the meetings when a date is available.
