Daisy Farm
Daisy Farm, nestled within the Crocodile River Reserve, holds a poignant history that harks back to the apartheid era in South Africa.
During this dark period, Daisy Farm was repurposed as an interrogation center by Craig Williamson, a notorious security forces spy. Williamson was infamously linked to the murder of Ruth First, the wife of Joe Slovo, a prominent anti-apartheid activist and leader of the South African Communist Party.
Williamson acquired the farm using funds from the International University Exchange Fund under the guise of “Youth Development.” However, beyond being an interrogation site, the farm was also used to train young spies, including Olivia Forsythe, known by her codename, Agent 407.
Daisy Farm was referenced multiple times during the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) hearings, particularly in connection with the planned imprisonment of Joe Slovo. The intention was to capture him and detain him in a basement on the farm.
The farm’s isolated location made it an ideal setting for its sinister activities during that era.
