The Wild Crew @ The Sheds: Birds
Why do birds fly South? Because it’s too far to walk!
We, as humans, have learnt a lot from these remarkable feathered animals. We must credit them for advancements made in flight, high-speed trains and drones.
They also do a lot for our natural ecosystems – which in turn benefits us. They are pollinators, seed disperses and natural pest controllers amongst other things. Moreover, they are beautiful to watch and to listen too. It stands to reason then that we should take the time to get to know them and encourage that interest and appreciation in our children.
This will be the focus of our Wild Crew Outing on Saturday the 11th of April. A walk through our beautiful grasslands learning how to identify birds, looking at their general physiology, studying feathers under a microscope and the challenge of seeing how well we, as humans, can build a nest, are all on the cards for Saturday.
